DVD review: Invasion Force (1990) .

Please note that this review is based upon a italian language only DVD release, it seems to be the only legit DVD release of this film, and my knowledge of italian is nil. I don´t understand a word...
A film crew, busy shooting a movie in the woods around Mobile, Alabama, are the only witnesses to the invasion of a group of commandos arriving by parachutes. The future of America now depends on a small group of patriotic americans. Invasion Force is written and directed by David A. Prior. The acting is bad except for Richard Lynch who plays a disgruntled former U.S. Special Forces office, named Michael Cooper whose mission is to take the city and hold it, and the populace, for ransom. The camerawork and editing is decent, the pacing is good and Invasion Force never gets boring. There is quite a bit of action and it ain´t very believable but hey this is a David A. Prior flick so you shouldn´t expect realism in the combat scenes. There is a couple of twists in the film, some might enjoy them but for me it ruined the film. There is some gore in the form of squibs and there is only some partial nudity so fans of T & A will be disappointed.
This review is based upon the region 2 DVD release from USA Home Entertainment, it´s uncut and italian language only.
Rating: 1½ out of 7. I liked the plot and Richard Lynch was good but besides that this is a major disappointment and some of the twists and especially the ridiculous twist at the ending f*cking sucks! I really hate that ending!

DVD review: Shotgun Boulevard (1996)

Jack B. Quick, (played by Scott Shaw) must defeat two feuding warlord brother who are unleasing havoc on the streets of near-future Hollywood, California. Shotgun Boulevard is written by Scott Shaw and Donald G. Jackson who also is the director. We get to see some really bad acting, The soundtrack, the camerawork and editing is bad. There is intentional and unintentional comedy. It feels boring and overlong even though it´s only has a running time of 70 minutes. The flick is confusing, for instance Robert Z´Dar appears in a couple of scenes and seems to have hallucinations where he imagines that he´s hunted by a identical twin, he´s never properly introduced (we don´t know who he is or what is on his agenda) and weirdly he never shares a scene with any of the other main characters. Adult filmstar Jill Kelly appears in this, in fact it´s the same scenes that appear in Naked Avenger that I reviewed yesterday.  The action is mostly bad, the one and only exception is the few scenes of martial arts but that probably due to the fact that Scott Shaw is a experienced martial artist. No gore but a lot of T & A, supplied by Jill Kelly who supplies full frontal nudity and runs around naked in almost all of her scenes.
This review is based upon the All Region DVD release from Light Source Films.
Rating: 0½ out of 7. Shotgun Boulevard is a mess, low production values  it´s confused, a bit eccentric and sometimes it´s just plain weird.

DVD review: Naked Avenger (Video 2008)

A young girl, (played by adult filmstar, Jill Kelly), whose boyfriend has left her stranded on the side of the road without a car. Seeking only to get to her job, she is picked up by a scout for the seedy underworld of white slavery and prostitution. Robbed of everything, including her clothing, the girl escapes only to be tracked through the desolate forests of the California Mountains by the scout, the white slaver, and their minions. The girl must battle her way to freedom while fighting tooth-and-nail, hand-to-hand, and gun-to-gun. Naked Avenger is written by M.T Bird and Scott who also are the directors. Hilariously bad acting, bad camerawork and even worse editing. Naked Avenger is very boring, for instance we get to see Jill Kelly walking/running in the forest and nothing, I do mean nothing, happens for several minutes. And then there is the bad guy who seems to talk on his phone for almost half the films running time, he talks, talks and talks... The few scenes of action are really pathetic and badly edited. No gore in this but lots and lots of T & A courtesy of Jill Kelly who is naked throughout most of the film.
This review is based upon a All Region DVD released by Light Source Films.

Rating: 0 out of 7. Naked Avenger is a total shitfeast, utterly boring and badly made. Even if it´s only 1 hour long it´s overlong and quite an endurance test to sit through. I think I should get a medal for watching it without pressing the fast forward button.  The only ones that this might appeal to are die hard fans of Jill Kelly.
