Review: Blood Rites (2012)
First I´d like to than the filmmakers for providing me with a screener.
It was supposed to be an easy deal for Jason and Nikki (Karis Yanike): buy the drugs, cut them at an abandoned warehouse, then sell them on the street and rake in the cash. When the drug deal goes bad and Jason disappears, Nikki is trapped on an upper floor of the warehouse with a vicious ex-military enforcer, a gunshot victim, a violent addict and his three hostages. Leaving the building is not an option. All the exits have been blocked. And somewhere in the darkness is something with a taste for blood and a love of pain. The bad guys are being stalked by something worse. For a great demon demands to be born from the fiery depths of hell and its faithful servant has planned a bizarre blood rite that will leave no vein untapped. Blood will flow. Hell is coming. Blood Rites is written by Chad Haufschild and Dorothy Booraem. The acting is pretty good, it´s professionally shot and edited and the filmmakers has made the most of their limited budget. Visuals and sound are great. The soundtrack is cool. The pacing is pretty good and there is a nice twist in the plot. It isn´t a gorefeast but there is gore, I think most of it is practical fx, and most of it is effective/looks good. There is gratuitous topless nudity in the beginnning of flick, courtesy of three female actresses.

Rating: 6 out of 7. I enjoyed this, it get very high grades from me on the technical aspects of filmmaking (camerawork, editing, light, sound and so on) but it has a few flaws (for instance that some of the acting isn´t as good as the others). In my opinion Blood Rites is worth checking out.
