Review: Night of the Naked Dead (2012)

First I´d like to thank Midnight Releasing for providing me with a online screener.
A storm from hell brings mysterious strangers who come with secrets to a B&B on an isolated island. Emma, the B&B owner, is a struggling romance writer. David, a handyman, is a traumatized war veteran wrestling with his past and sleeping in his van. They face a menace more shockingly evil and wickedly terrifying than anything in their wildest dreams. Veronica arrives naked. Coby has blood on him. Then the Others appear. Sex and murder, lust and revenge will make this a night that the romance writer and her new friend will never forget... if they survive. Night of the Naked Dead is written and directed by Junius Podrug. The acting is uneven, some pretty good performances but some are bad, just plain bad. The camerawork and editing is good, I like visual fx used for the atmospheric phenomena. Pretty good use of the setting. The pacing is pretty decent but some viewers will probably find it a bit slow. The back story is pretty cool but is misshandled, they could have made so much more out of it. There´s no gore in this, that DVD artwork is very nice but deceptive! There´s not much nudity to speak of, the title is deceptive....
Night of the Naked Dead is being released on DVD 12/3/2013 by Midnight Releasing.

Rating: 1½ out of 7. Night of the Naked Dead is a ghost story that could have been very good with some changes, some of which would be quite drastic if I would decide. There are some good moments, some good stuff in in it but they are too few and to far apart. The ending, to put it bluntly, just didn´t do it for me, it´s just unsatisfactory and a big let dow.n
