DVD review: Deadhunter: Sevillian Zombies (Video 2003)

The Dead Hunters is ordered by the Vatican to Seville to eradicate the zombies, to clean up the city and to make it safe again. There is just a huge problem, the annual fair is imminent, and the crowds would be a feast for the undead. Although the mayor of the city is aware of the danger, he wants the show to take place at all costs. The inhabitants of Seville can only hope and pray that the Dead Hunters bring the city back under control in time. Deadhunter: Sevillian Zombies is written, produced, edited and directed by Julián Lara who also plays one of the characters on the movie. The camerawork and editing is bad. The pacing is pretty decent but the actionscenes are uninspired and boring. They didn´t even have money to do some computer rendered muzzle flashes for the scenes where the characters fire their guns, which happens a lot, instead they just shake their toyguns to give the impression that they are shooting. There isn´t much gore, the gore fx and zombie-make-up design is amateurish and consist mostly of faces painted with green and grey colors. There is no T & A in this but some might get a kick of the prolonged scene featuring a male stripper in the beginning of the movie.
This review is based upon the region free (Region 0) DVD release from Euro Video, it has german and spanish audio.
Rating: 0 out of 7. Deadhunter: Sevillian Zombies is a silly, horrible and sad display of inept filmmaking. It isn´t even trash it´s just crap... It was a tedious experience to sit through this, don´t spend your hardearned money on this....
