DVD review: Tag der Teufel (2007)

After a long study abroad journalist Penelope Jones ends up back in her hometown. The first job is just around the corner, as a mental patient escapes from a mental hospital and suddenly gruesome murders shake the town. Tag der Teufel is written and directed by Elmar Weihsmann and Stefan Peczelt. The acting vary in quality. The camerawork and editing is pretty good but there are neither atmosphere nor tension and the kills are completely unspectacular. The soundtrack is pretty good. The pacing is off and the flick is actually pretty boring but towards the end, the pace increases a little. The bodycount is pretty good but gorehounds will inevitably be disappointed as there is only one scene that is gory, for the most part we only see the blood flowing through the mouths of the victims. There is no T & A in this.
This review is based upon the Austrian region 2 DVD release from Illusions Unlimited Films.
Rating: 1 out of 7. Tag der Teufel is boring, it doesn´t even have a minimum level of atmosphere and excitement. There is hardly any gore and no T & A.
