DVD review: Alistair (2010)
First of all I would like to thank Aaron Cartwright for sending me a screener of his film Alistair! Two ruthless killers on the loose pick the wrong house....Waiting is an evil presence beyond their comprehension...And it's hungry. Alistair is a short film (running time 11 minutes) from Australia, it´s written and directed by Aaron Cartwright and it´s tight, tense and well made. Nice use of the setting, good camera work and editing. The acting is average but nothing to complain about.
There is little bit of gore but this film is more about atmosphere than gruesome displays of graphic carnage. It does have couple of good jump scares.
Rating: 5½ out of 7. I will definitely keep a look out for the next film, short or feature length, from Aaron Cartwright.
