DVD review: Defiled (2010)
When Cassidy's (Amanda Myers) parents leave town, she seizes the opportunity to fulfill her darkest fantasy... Cassidy has a taste for rough sex with strangers she meets on the Internet. Never fully satisfied by these encounters, she decides to take things to the next level. Placing her address and phone number online, she receives a phone call from The Man (Jerry Hallman). Unfortunately, he has no intention of leaving once the night is out..
Defiled is shot, edited, written and directed by Zachary Paul. The picture is murky and sometimes it´s so dark that it´s hard to see what´s happening on screen. Unintelligible, muffled audio, poor camera work and editing. The acting ranges between mediocre and bad, unfortunately it´s hard to care for Amandra Myers character and Jerry Hallman character isn´t near as imposing och frightening as he´s intended to be. There is a bit of nudity on behalf of Amanda Myers but not as much as might be expected. The noticeble lack of suspense and tension is a big let down. Gorehounds might like to know that there are some gore and the special fx are pretty good considering the budget.
The review is based on the region 1 DVD released by Independent Entertainment.
Rating: 1 out of 7. All in all Defiled is a big let down..
