Review: Velvet Vengeance (2012)
First I´d like to thanks the filmmakers behind Velvet Vengeance for providing me with a screener.
A young woman is faced with the tragic murder of her brother. The police swear that the murderer is dead but Alice can not shake the feeling that the killer is still alive. Against her friends and family’s best wishes she travels to the location of her brothers murder to hunt the killer but little does she know that she is the one that is being hunted. Velvet Vengeance is written and directed by Jeremy Campbell. We get some frightfully bad acting, bad camerawork and editing. It looks like a incredibly cheap production. Even though it has a running time of 26 minutes (including credits) it feels overlong as it quickly turns into daytime tv territory. There is a fightscene between two girls and the choreography is so bad and it´s so badly shot and edited that´s it´s a small catastrophy. There is no gore, no make-up fx (practical or digital). there is a scene where a character gets disembowelled but it´s shot from behind, you see nothing except something that is supposed to be blood and guts falling to the ground. No T & A in this one..
This review is based upon a online screener provided by the makers of Velvet Vengeance.
Rating: 0 out of 7. OMG this is really bad! It´s so badly made and boring. I do like the idea of a next of kin looking for revenge crossed with the slasher genre but this is more daytime tv/soap opera than action/horror.
