DVD review: Fear of Clowns 2 (Video 2007)

Shivers (Mark Lassise) has escaped, and once again sets his murderous sights on Lynn Blodgett (Jacqueline Reres). But Detective Peters (Frank Lama) stands in his way, and this time he´s not bringing the clown in: He wants to put him six feet under. Shivers ain´t alone - - he´s brought two homicidal friends to help him kill Lynn. There´s only one thing he doesn´t know: Detective Peters isn´t alone either. Fear of Clowns 2 is written and directed by Kevin Kangas. The acting is decent and Frank Lama is probably the strongest actor in the cast, it´s professionally shot and edited and there are some really nice shots in this and a few really cool/creepy scenes. The soundtrack is good and helps add to the atmosphere. There is gore, mostly practical make-up fx but I think they´ve used some digital fx in some more complex scenes, and for the most part it looks good. Part 2 is much gorier than the first film and there are a couple of quite nice kills in it. There is T & A in this courtesy of hottie Savannah Costello who also provides some full frontal nudity.
This review is based upon a limited edition release from Kangas Kahn Films LLC, it´s numbered 812 out of 900 copies.
Rating: 4½ out of 7. I enjoyed it but I´m afraid that Fear of Clowns 2 is somewhat of a letdown despite having more action, more killer clowns, more gore, more nudity and a more rapid pacing. The problem is that they make a big misstake by having three creepy killer clowns and not use them to full effect (sadly Shivers friends don´t get much screen time). If you liked the first movie, are a fan of killer clowns or if you are a fan of the slasher genre you should check out Fear of Clowns 2.
