DVD review: River of Darkness (2011)
When several unexplainable murders occur in a quiet river town, Sheriff Will Logan (Kurt Angle) desperately needs to find out who is responsible. But what the sheriff discovers is worse than he expected - the once dead Jacobs Boys have returned after 30 years in purgatory.. and they want revenge. River of Darkness is written and directed by Bruce Koehler. The acting is awful and while the cinematography is pretty bad and it looks like a really cheap production. I had severe difficulties finding any entertainment in it. It isn´t even remotely scary instead it feels overlong and is just plain dull despite a running time of 84 minutes. There is only brief gore and some computer gendered blood splattering. The make-up fx design for the ghouls is cheap and silly looking. No T & A in this.
This review is based upon the region 1 DVD release from Echo Bridge Home Entertainment. It´s Not Rated...
Rating: 0 out of 7. River of Darkness is a huge disappointment as it fails on every level and there isn´t any climax to this film. It suddenly just ends. This flick actually is so painful to watch that I even thought about turning it off. Avoid this movie!
